How to Pay AliExpresswith Bitcoin (BTC)

AliExpress doesn't accept Bitcoin. AliBitress does — and lists the same 100M+ products. Pay with on-chain BTC or Lightning, no gift cards, no prepaid debit cards, no fiat conversion. Most orders are placed in under 15 minutes from clicking Pay.

Does AliExpress accept Bitcoin?

No — AliExpress only accepts cards, bank transfer, and a few regional wallets. Bitcoin isn't in the list and Alibaba Group has never publicly hinted at adding it. To pay an AliExpress product with BTC, the standard approach is to use a service that lists the same catalog, takes BTC at checkout, and places the order on AliExpress for you. AliBitress is purpose-built for that.

You don't need a crypto debit card, you don't need to buy gift cards, you don't need to convert BTC to fiat first. You pay the BTC quote, the on-chain confirmation lands, and the AliExpress order is placed automatically.

On-chain or Lightning

Standard BTC for any size order, Lightning for cheaper micro-orders. Switch at checkout depending on cart total.

Self-custody friendly

Pay from any wallet — Sparrow, Electrum, hardware wallets, mobile, or even directly from Coinbase or Binance.

On-chain verification

Order moves from "waiting" to "confirmed" only when the network confirms your transaction. No off-chain trust required.

How it works

From Bitcoin wallet to AliExpress order in five steps

  1. Find the AliExpress product on AliBitress

Search by name or paste an AliExpress product URL. Same SKUs and live pricing as AliExpress, with shipping and tax quoted before checkout.

  2. Select Bitcoin (or Bitcoin Lightning) as your payment currency

On the checkout page, choose BTC for on-chain payments or Lightning for orders under ~$50 where instant settlement and sub-cent fees matter.

  3. Send the exact BTC amount from your wallet

Scan the QR code or copy the on-screen address into your wallet. The displayed BTC amount is locked at checkout-time spot price and won't move while you wait.

  4. Wait for one confirmation

On-chain BTC averages ~10 minutes for the first block confirmation. Lightning is instant. The order page polls the blockchain in real time — you can close the tab; email notifications carry the rest.

  5. Order placed on AliExpress, ships from origin warehouse

Once confirmed, AliBitress places the order on AliExpress with your shipping details. You get a Cainiao tracking number and live delivery updates from China to your door.

Bitcoin fees, demystified

What you actually pay (and how to pay less)

The total cost of a Bitcoin AliExpress order is product price + AliExpress shipping + applicable tax + Bitcoin network fee. AliBitress doesn't add a payment-method surcharge. The only variable that's not fixed at checkout is the BTC network fee — here's how it actually behaves.

NetworkTypical feeConfirm timeBest for
Bitcoin on-chain (quiet hour)$0.50 – $2~10 minAny size order
Bitcoin on-chain (congested)$5 – $2510–60 min depending on fee bidLarger orders where the fee is small relative to total
Lightning Network< $0.01InstantSmall orders (< $50), high fee periods

Network fees observed on mempool.space across May 2026. AliBitress shows the live network-fee suggestion at checkout so there are no surprises after broadcast.

Pay less in fees

Wait for a quiet mempool hour (often weekends/early UTC), use Lightning for small orders, batch multi-item carts so a single TX covers everything.

Pay faster

Bid mid-mempool fee (auto-suggested by your wallet) for ~1-block confirm. Or use Lightning for instant settlement at any congestion level.

Wallets that work

Send BTC from any wallet you already own

You don't need a special AliBitress wallet. Anything that can broadcast a standard BTC transaction works — self-custody, hardware, mobile, or exchange.

Hardware wallets

Ledger, Trezor, Coldcard, BitBox, Foundation Passport. Full self-custody, ideal for any order size where the BTC has long-term holding value.

Self-custody desktop

Sparrow Wallet, Electrum, Wasabi. Full control, advanced fee selection, optional Tor for privacy. Best technical flexibility.

Self-custody mobile

Muun, BlueWallet, Phoenix (Lightning), Breez, Zeus, Aqua. Phone-native, scan-the-QR convenience.

Exchange wallets

Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Bitstamp. Withdraw directly to the AliBitress address — just be aware of withdrawal-time delays separate from on-chain confirmation.

Lightning-only

Wallet of Satoshi, Phoenix, Muun, Strike. Instant + sub-cent fees. Pick "Bitcoin Lightning" at checkout when your cart is small.

Multisig / business

Unchained, Casa, Liana, Sparrow's multi-sig support. Approval flows for shared wallets work the same — just sign and broadcast.

vs. the alternatives

Trust & security

Why your BTC and your order are safe

One-confirmation gate

No order is sent to AliExpress until your BTC payment has at least one block confirmation on the main chain. Lightning settles atomically, so once the invoice is paid the order moves immediately.

Your keys, never ours

You sign every Bitcoin transaction in your own wallet. AliBitress never sees your seed phrase, private key, or wallet password — only the resulting on-chain payment.

7-day pending window

Even if you send the BTC during a congested mempool, the order stays open for 7 days waiting on confirmations. Slow networks don't lose your purchase.

15-day dispute window

If the wrong item, a damaged package, or a no-delivery happens, you can open a dispute within 15 days of marked delivery — independent of AliExpress's own buyer protection.

Bitcoin FAQ

Bitcoin-specific questions answered

Does AliExpress accept Bitcoin directly?

No. AliExpress.com itself doesn't take Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency at checkout — only cards, bank transfer, and a few regional wallets. To pay for an AliExpress product with BTC, you use a service that fronts the AliExpress catalog and accepts Bitcoin at its own checkout. AliBitress places the AliExpress order on your behalf once your BTC payment confirms.

How many confirmations do you require for Bitcoin?

AliBitress accepts the order as paid after the first confirmation, which on Bitcoin's main chain takes around 10 minutes on average. For very high-value orders the system waits for additional confirmations as a precaution against double-spend, but for typical orders one confirmation is sufficient and the order moves into AliExpress's processing queue immediately.

What does Bitcoin's network fee cost on a small order?

It depends on mempool congestion at the moment you broadcast. In a quiet hour, an on-chain BTC payment typically costs under $1 in network fees. During congested periods (e.g. major bull-run weeks) fees can spike to $5–$25. For very small orders, the Lightning Network reduces this to fractions of a cent and confirms in seconds — see the Lightning section below.

Can I pay with the Lightning Network?

Yes — Lightning is supported alongside on-chain BTC. Lightning is the better choice for orders under ~$50 because the network fee is a few sats (typically less than a US cent) and confirmation is instantaneous. Pick "Bitcoin Lightning" as the currency at checkout and pay from any Lightning-compatible wallet (Phoenix, Wallet of Satoshi, Muun, Zeus, Breez, etc.).

Which Bitcoin wallet should I use to pay?

Any wallet that supports sending to a standard BTC address works — hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor, Coldcard), self-custody desktop wallets (Sparrow, Electrum, BlueWallet), mobile wallets (Muun, BlueWallet, Breez), and exchange wallets (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken). For Lightning you'll need a Lightning-enabled wallet (Phoenix, Wallet of Satoshi, Zeus, Breez). The on-screen QR code is read by all major wallets.

What if Bitcoin's price moves while my transaction is confirming?

The BTC amount you pay is locked when you click "Pay" — we quote a specific BTC amount based on the spot rate at that instant and that amount is what your order is settled against. If BTC's USD value moves up or down during the ~10 minutes you wait for confirmation, the order remains valid for the locked amount. There's no surprise top-up due even if BTC rallies during your wait.

Is paying for an AliExpress order with Bitcoin anonymous?

It's pseudonymous, not anonymous. Bitcoin transactions reveal the sending wallet address on the public blockchain, which can be linked to your identity if your wallet has previously been associated with an exchange KYC account. The shipping address is also required for delivery, just like any online order. For maximum payment-side privacy, pay from a wallet address you haven't reused, or use Lightning (which is more privacy-preserving than on-chain), or consider Monero (XMR) which is also supported on AliBitress.

Do I need an account on AliBitress to pay with Bitcoin?

No — guest checkout is fully supported. You only need an email for order updates and a shipping address. Creating an account gets you order history, saved addresses, a wishlist, and on-site notifications, but it's optional. There's no KYC for normal-value orders.

Can I pay with Bitcoin from Coinbase or Binance directly?

Yes. Open the exchange app, tap Send, paste the BTC address from the AliBitress checkout page (or scan its QR), and broadcast. Coinbase and Binance let you choose the network (use the standard Bitcoin network, not Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin SV). Note that exchange withdrawals sometimes take 5–30 minutes to actually leave the exchange's hot wallet, separate from on-chain confirmation time.

What happens if I underpay (sent slightly too little)?

The order is marked partially-paid. AliBitress shows you exactly how much more BTC is needed and you can top up with a second payment from any wallet. The original payment is held against the same order. Overpayments slightly above the quoted amount (e.g. due to network deduction quirks) are accepted within a small tolerance; significant overpayments are flagged for refund.
